Thanks for taking the time to visit the JustGiving for Nigel Black - a portal for anyone who can make donations in aid of the Nigel Black Memorial Fund.
Nigel Black sadly lost his battle with Cancer on Wednesday 21 July 2010, he was 34 years of age.
Nigel was like you and me; he loved football, rugby, cricket, music, fashion, a few beers, a night out with the lads, dinner with his wife and friends, his Mum and Dad, his dogs, having a laugh, going on holidays, his job, the odd game of golf for bets, his cars, his home.......just like you and me.
Unfortunately though leading up to Christmas 2009 Nige was diagnosed with bladder cancer after what seemingly was thought to be a simple urinary infection. The following January, Nige was told that he had to have his bladder removed, and following an epic 12-hour operation and some anxious weeks awaiting the results of what seemed like endless tests, Nige was told the fantastic news in April that his Cancer had being beaten.
In June 2010, only two months later, Nige was informed that his Cancer had returned, however the secondary cancer type which had spread to other organs of his body, was one which he wasn’t going to defeat.
After a difficult number of weeks of ever-fading hope, Nige sadly passed away with his wife Andrea and parents Patrick and Yvonne by his side.
So what now? Unfortunately there is nothing we can do that will bring back Nige, but his memory still lives on strong. He did wish that Cancer Research UK be recognised for the help they provided him, hence in turn it is the wish of his family and friends to try to do what we can to save others from the hurt which has been felt since 2010.
So please dig deep and donate whatever you can - anything you can contribute will be greatly received.
