We help the hospital to transform the lives of children
Story
The trek will take just over a week and only 50% of those that attempt to climb actually reach the top. Those of you that know me well will know that I am not a natural athlete and so this challenge will most definitely push me to my limits.
Why Sparks? I was born at 32 weeks by emergency caesarian section, weighing only 3lb 20z. While I suffered no lasting effects, I had under-developed lungs, jaundice and an allergy to cows’ milk, and was in the special care baby unit at the Royal Devon & Exeter hospital for a total of eight weeks.
Without breakthroughs in medical research, the likes of which are funded by , I wouldn’t be here today, but not every child is as lucky as I was.
Why do I need your help? I am hoping to raise £3,975 in sponsorship to support future research so that more children have the chance to be born healthy, while at the same time proving that premature babies can go on to lead a healthy and energetic lifestyle.
