Story
I am taking part in a Women's charity boxing event on the 4th December 2021! I have chosen Alzheimer's Society as it is a cause very close to my heart. I have been a carer all of my working life in a variety of settings but pretty much always with dementia. It is such an important role and one that I take pride in every day. It has been a struggle over the years to watch my residents live with dementia and the effects on them with their daily challenges, emotions and memories. As well as watching the pain, happiness, love and heartbreak of their families, friends and other carers. Every single person I have ever looked after has left an impact on my heart and their personalities have all had some amazing traits and they have all left me with memories to last me a lifetime. So, I thought if there is anything else other than caring that I can do to aid pushing forward with the dream of finding a cure, then I should! Please donate and help me to support the work of this amazing charity.
Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever. Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.
