Fundraising for Raleigh International Trust
Story
Hello, I was recently accepted onto the International Citizens Service (ICS) scheme which is a leading global volunteering project for young people funded by the Department for International Development (DFID). It is run by some of the most renowned organisations fighting poverty through volunteering and allows motivated young people to contribute to the development of some of the poorest areas in the world.
I have previously worked with Raleigh International, which is a charity working withordinary people who want to do something extraordinary with their lives and make a difference in the world. Raleigh works in partnership with local communities to make a much needed difference to people's lives, supporting their efforts to improve their standard of living. The charity helps in enabling communities to access basic services such as water, sanitation, education and energy, using renewable resources.
I will be completing a 10 week exhibition in India with Raleigh from the 2nd October until the 14th December 2014. Here I will help to make the most of a difference I can by helping with health and sanitation projects. I will also be living amongst the communities I am helping meaning no real toilets or showers for a while!
