Story

I'm helping the Manta Trust to raise money by taking part in their Cross the Oceans 2022 challenge.

I'll be spending many mornings swimming along the reefs of Bonaire during the month of May!  I'm committing to 50km, that's 50 round trips from Bari Reef to the Cliff.  Sign up to Cross the Oceans and join me for some ocean swims!

For those that do not know, I moved to Bonaire in October with a plan to base the Caribbean Islands Manta Conservation Program here! It's been a very busy few months but we are slowly gaining momentum and becoming more well known on the island.  I'm working full-time as a dive instructor and working on this project whenever I can.  I give a weekly presentation every Monday night at Yellow Sub (free and open to all) if you want to learn more about the manta rays in Bonaire. Manta rays are rare here but with long-term monitoring, education initiatives and increased research, we will learn more about the population around the island and throughout the Caribbean.
