Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.,

My beautiful mum Jo has recently been diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma which is a rare type of blood cancer which is also causing a disease called Amyloidosis. The news has been so heartbreaking for us all and has turned my world upside down. There are so many people that love my mum and we are so lucky that she has our amazing, crazy family and all her beautiful friends there for her during this time. I think we can all agree this awful disease in every form always effects the most precious people. So let's raise as much money as possible!.

Amyloidosis, along with myeloma are both very rare diseases that many people are not aware of. Diagnosis can often take months/ years. There is also a huge lack of research and funding for these diseases due it being so rare. Only 5% of cancer cases a year are myeloma. Amyloidosis being even rarer with roughly 500 people a year being diagnosed. Currently there is no cure for either of them

So, for the fundraiser, myself and some of my closest friends are taking on the Leeds 12K total warrior challenge in July next year. It consists of a 12K run with around 25 obstacles to tackle through the run.

We are by no means runners! However we are up for the challenge!!
