Story
In June this year, I will be travelling to Lake Windemere in the Lake District to swim 1 mile in the freezing cold water (last time I swam there it was 9 degrees! 😰).
The work the Isabel Baker Foundation do for families is incredible, and something I feel extremely passionate about! Please give anything you can, even a couple of pounds would make a massive difference!
The Isabel Baker Foundation was set up in 2015, in memory of Isabel Baker, who passed away from Leukeamia 8 days after her first birthday. For the past four years, their mission has been to support bereaved parents of children with cancer by providing grants for funeral and headstone costs. Alongside this, they have also been providing parents of children with cancer with vouchers to help with living costs, if their children are in hospital for long periods of time. Parents often cannot work while their children are in hospital, and they are not fed on the ward, these costs soon add up! They have decided to start fundraising towards a new project! A holiday lodge for families of sick or terminally ill children to use throughout the year.
