Story
I will be running the London Landmarks Half Marathon this year to honor my father and those who are impacted by memory loss. While my father does not have Alzheimer’s or Dementia, he was diagnosed with a short term memory illness, called Neurosarcoidosis, in 2001. Alzheimer's Research UK raises money for research to change the future of dementia. They're even developing policies and bringing influential organizations together to bring about this change! Checkout the work they're doing their website: https://www.alzheimersresearchuk.org/
Those who know my father's story know of its unforgettable nature. His ability to bounce back after such life-changing circumstances could not be done without the support of his family (looking at you, Mom!) and friends.
Most notable, are those who surround my father with such positivity and empathy, especially in times of trouble. You really cannot judge a book by its cover, as seen with my father. He is the most jovial, positive, and humorous character in my life, despite living in a sometimes unforgiving and mysterious world. He has taught me to live life to the fullest, be in the moment, and to say yes to as many adventures as possible.
I appreciate any donation towards this cause that is close to my heart. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!! Now I am off to start my training...
XO Nicki
