Story
I’m walking this on behalf of my amazing mum! Although we luckily haven’t needed to use Willen Hospice it has made me realise how important fund raising for these kinds of charities is!
My amazing mum was diagnosed with stage 1 breast cancer on 3rd January this year and it has been one hell of a journey which is still continuing! Unfortunately she won’t be able to join me (even though she’d love to) as she will be recovering from her 4th operation this year! So in honor of her determination to kick cancers arse I am digging out my trainers and going for a loooooong.... walk (crawl maybe)
Willen Hospice provides specialist end-of-life care for adults, focusing on four key areas: specialist symptom control, emotional support, spiritual support and care for carers.Often the most distressing aspect of living with life-limiting illnesses is the types of pain and symptoms which can arise. Our team of dedicated staff and volunteers can give compassionate, specialist support to patients, and their family members, to help deal with, as they wish to, the physical and emotional effects of both their illness and treatments.
