Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. The Stroke Association is the only charity in the UK providing lifelong support for all stroke survivors and their families.

Story

On the 28th May I’m embarking on a challenge - to run the Dales Way, 80 miles from Ilkley to Bowness over three days.

I’m doing this in memory of my mum, Christine, who we lost suddenly last October to a stroke. She is greatly missed by all and each day is still incredibly hard. She was a loving and supportive mum and grandmother, always positive,  encouraging and with true kindness. I talked to her only last summer about doing this challenge as a personal goal - she said “just go for it Nicolas”.

Now I’m doing it for her - in her memory and to raise much needed funds and awareness for the Stroke Association. Please donate whatever you can.

The Stroke Association: When stroke strikes, part of your brain shuts down. And so does a part of you. Life changes instantly and recovery is tough. But the brain can adapt. Our specialist support, research and campaigning are only possible with the courage and determination of the stroke community. With more donations and support from you, we can rebuild even more lives.
