I am running the London Marathon for Headway Derby who support people with a brain injury and their families. The work that the charity does is incredible and helps people with the challenges they will face. 

Unlike a physical disability, an injury to the brain is not visible and therefore is not truly understood by many. This only adds to the frustration and makes it more difficult for them to understand the impact their brain injury will have. Headway helps those who have sustained a brain injury adapt to the new challenges and teach those around them how to help. Acquiring a brain injury can be a lonely and confusing time but Headway ensures that no one feels isolated in dealing with the overwhelming impact of their life changing injury. 

In my job, I am privileged to have seen first hand the impact that Headway has had in supporting those with a brain injury and it is vital that their amazing work continues.
