Story
G'day :-)
Now that I've finally recovered from running the Great North Run in 2006, I'm digging out my trainers and sports bra and doing it again.
Thanks to everyone who sponsored me last time and please donate again if you can. Christie's is a great cause and is a charity which means a lot to me and my family.
My 20-year-old brother Sam died of cancer on September 14th 2005, after being diagnosed at the age of 10. Throughout his illness he was determined never to let his cancer dictate his life, so he spent as little time at Christie's as he possibly could, right until the very end.
However, the time Sam did spend at Christie's was made as bearable as it possibly could have been by the great work of the doctors, nurses and care-workers there, especially in the last few weeks when he was cared for 24 hours a day at the Young Oncology unit.
Sam and the rest of us are very thankful for the work that Dr Rao, Pauline and all the staff did. I'm sure he would think it appropriate to help raise money so that they can continue in their great work and make progress in their research each day.
And if that's not enough to make you sponsor me, I don't know what is - so please do your bit (big or small) in saying thank you for the work Christie's did for our Sam. In return I WILL beat my 2006 time of 2 hours, 46 minutes and 1 second - I'll shave off that 1 second if nothing else!

I did it! 2 hours, 27 minutes and 44 seconds - to be exact. This page is still open and accepting donations so it's not too late. Thanks very much to everyone who has donated so far - it really helped spur me on and will go to a great cause - Nic xxx
