Jade and I have decided to climb Mount Kilimanjaro this summer (2012) to raise money for cancer research. It is a charity that is close to both of us and the importance of its work is something that we are both very familiar with.

My mum, Lorraine, sadly passed away 15 years ago. She struggled through a tough and difficult battle for years fighting breast cancer and later lost her battle to a brain tumour. She was the most beautiful, amazing woman I have known and I, and everyone that was lucky enough to have met her, miss and love her every day. The work that cancer research did and continue to do ensured that my dad, 3 sisters and I were able to spend as long as we possibly could with her.

The continued work of cancer research is no more apparent than with Jade's mum, or as we all know her, Muma Hilla, who is currently on a winning battle with her cancer. After a difficult past year and a bit the future is starting to look bright again and she is doing amazingly in her own fight against cancer. She is an astonishing woman with such inspiring strength.

Any amount that you can give will honestly go so far in helping cancer research continue to understand this disease and create successful treatments to help beat it.

We are still quite unsure what we have let ourselves in for but one thing we can promise is we will get to the top of that mountain, come rain, shine or snow!
