I am joining this challenge with thousands of others to complete the 100 Miles in April in support of Maggie’s 🧡 Maggie’s offers the best possible support, free to anyone with cancer alongside their families who walk through our doors. We want to be there to support people when cancer turns life upside down.

My daughter, Mabel , was diagnosed with luekemia in July 2020. It wasn’t until 2021 that I seeked help after a friend noticed I was struggling. Mabel had just begun the maintenance part of treatment. I had one to one sessions with Maggies at the Royal Marsden in Sutton. I then joined an online group with other mums with children undergoing similar. I then returned to Maggies near the end of Mabel’s treatment after another significant wobble! 

With the support from Maggies, I was able to gain my strength back, given the tools to manage my dark thoughts and ultimately was able to fully support my daughter the best I could. 

Mabel is now almost 16 months clear of treatment and is thriving. I’m a little behind her, still carrying fears and worries about the future, but getting better. 

When I saw the 100 mile walk in April it was an instant…YES! 

I turn 50 at the beginning of April, my life has drastically changed since Mabel got sick, and I’ve lost a lot of who I was before leukemia came into our lives. Doing this challenge will give me the much needed kick up the bottom to get back out, being more active whilst hopefully raising a decent amount of money!
