Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Last time I ran the race for life, this time I am attempting something slightly less energetic, but a good deal more diffiult. Those of you who know me well will know how much I enjoy a good tipple, so this time, in order to up the scales a bit, I have decided to go dry for the month of March, which I am expecting to be a lot more difficult than a five mile run. :o)
It seems that as I get older, more and more people that I love are or have been affected by Cancer. It really sunk in when my mentor , who was only a couple of months older than me, passed awaya couple of years ago. I still miss her to this day. Since my last run, another really good friend of mine has been affected by Cancer, and has fortunately beaten it,however a cousin, by marriage, sadly passed away this year. He was the most lovely man, who was full of life, and brought joy to everyone that he met. His funeral was heart wrenching, and worsesend by the fact that he was so young. As more and more people that I care about deeply are affected by this ghastly disease, I become more determined to do as much as I can for those I love, and raising money enables essential research to be carried out, that will assist everybody affected, not just those that are dear to me. I know times are tough, but any donations that you are able to make would be greatly appreciated and very well received.
