Story
As most of you know Thea and Florence were born over 10 weeks prematurely at 29 weeks and five days. Both were extremely ill and small (Thea 3 pound 6, Florence 2 pound 7) once stabilised they were immediately transferred to Brighton neonatal intensive care unit. Florence spent 10 weeks in hospital and Thea spent 15 weeks in hospital. Throughout that time BLISS provided cake, clothes and cute little cards to help raise and lift our spirits. If they can continue to support other families like us with these small gestures they are going to need money from fundraising. 27 miles each in the month of September may not seem like much to most people (us too) but with 3 children at home it’s all we can manage. 27 miles is symbolic as most families with babies in hospital at birth need to travel 27 miles on average to visit their babies. We didn’t have to travel that far but it could at times take us an hour to get to Brighton to see our girls. At one point the girls were at different hospitals so we could spend most of our week in the car, on buses or trains. We would really like to give a little back as even though our hospital journey isn’t at an end we can finally see a light at the end of the tunnel. Lots of love Jon and Nic xxx
