Story
I am running the Cardiff 10k to raise money for Bipolar UK, in memory of my brother Rob Court. Rob lived life to the full, he loved to compete and was always striving to win. His influence on me has made me the competitive person I am today. He turned every walk home from school into a race and liked nothing more than running past me in the last 100m ! I haven’t run in a race since I was a school so this will definitely be a challenge for me (as my first training session proved !)
I would really appreciate any sponsorship however small as every pound will make a difference to my charity Bipolar UK. With less than 10% of their funding coming from the government, your donations are vital in enabling this charity to support the five million people who are affected by bipolar in the UK today. 1% to 2% of the population experience a lifetime prevalence of bipolar and recent research suggests as many as 5% of us are on the bipolar spectrum. Compared to other health problems, treatment of bipolar is still badly affected by misunderstanding and stigma.
I run for Rob and for all those effected by Bipolar. I hope Rob runs this race with me rather than in front of me !
