Story

This is Lilia.

I did not know Lilia but I know her mummy Claire, her daddy Warren and her big sister Eloise, from Emily's Ballet School.

Warren and Claire found themselves in the worst situation imaginable in December 2008, when their baby girl Lilia was diagnosed with a rare form of childhood cancer, at only 2 1/2 years old.

They then had to watch their little one bravely endure months of chemotherapy and radiotherapy, which she did with a constant smile on her face. Lilia was initially given an 85% chance of a cure, but after further complications, she passed away in her mummy's arms on August 2nd 2009.

Lilia spent the last 16 days of her life at CHASE and the staff there allowed her family to spend every second of those 16 days with their baby girl, making very precious and special memories, in amongst heartbreak.

From a personal point of view, from the second my Emily and James came into my world, they have BEEN my world, and every day since, I have tried not to think about what my world would be like if I lost one of them.

Claire, Warren and Eloise are now IN that unimaginable world and my heart goes out to them, as it does to every other family who have lost their precious children. But thank goodness they had, and continue to have, the love and support of CHASE in such an unbearable situation.

Lilia is my incentive to run the 10km at Loseley. I am not a runner , by any stretch of the imagination, but when you meet a family who have been thrust into a world of huge sadness, and will continue to be in that world forever, it makes such situations far more real and it has made me even more determined to do something to help.

CHASE need £4million a year to continue their amazing work, so please help if you can. Thankyou.
