Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I’ve now completed my 200 mile cycle in Normandy! 200 miles in three and a half days was tough, and I have quite few bruises from falling a couple of times, but being with a team was a huge help. I'm proud of cycling all the way, and not stopping in any of the stages, much to my own surprise.
The trip was in aid of New Ways, a small charity whichsupports a range of health and development projects, mainly in . Specifically, we are aiming to raise £70,000 to meet the 12 months running costs for the Nariokotome Primary Health Care programme in . The programme operates four permanent dispensaries and a mobile clinic which sets out at 8:00 am each day to visit some of the 24 outreach locations it supports across 11,000 square miles to distribute medicine, vaccinations, medical supplies and health education.
New Ways, a UK registered charity that is run by unpaid volunteers – in this way the charity keeps administration costs to the absolute minimum, so that as much as is possible of the money raised goes to those in need. Together our cycle group aims to raise as much of the £70,000 as we can for . By taking part in the challenge, I committed myself to raising at least £1,000 in sponsorship (having paid all my own costs). I am thrilled to have exceeded this, but we are still a long way short of our overall target. Please will you support my efforts with a sponsored donation? I hope the time and energy I am giving will encourage you to be as generous as you can.
