Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I started running in 2006, following my mum’s death from pancreatic cancer. It gave me time and space to think and remember her. It was another two years before I realised that I had started to enjoy running. Over the years I lost other members of my family and close friends to cancer including my cousin and godfather Paul. He had taken a great interest in my running and asked me when I was going to do a marathon. It wasn’t something I thought I could do but it made me think. That conversation I had with Paul turned out to be the last one we would share as soon after he was diagnosed with cancer and died in 2020.
I decided then that I would do a marathon. It is a privilege to be fit and well enough to run the distance.
This marathon is to raise money for the vital work of cancer research so more people are saved from this terrible disease.
