Story
A cancer diagnosis is something we all dread, and for many the prospect of losing their hair as a result of chemotherapy is just as scary.
At Cathedral Day Unit, we are able to offer patients scalp cooling treatment, which allows patients to retain most of their hair during the course of their treatment
This means so much to so many people, allowing them to retain a sense of self and dignity
I am raising money as we hope to purchase new scalp coolers for the unit, as the ones we have are getting old and a little temperamental! These machines are very expensive and unfortunately are not funded by the NHS, but we are applying to East Kent Hospitals Charity for their support, and every penny that is donated to this fundraiser will be used to enhance the experience for patients and their visitors when they come to Cathedral Day Unit.
I will be participating in the annual Christmas Day sea swim in Clacton on Sea to help raise funds.
