Story
My husband Kevin suffered with a rare auto-immune blood condition, in fact it is so rare that it only affects 13 people in a million and just one fatality in a million. I remember us being told the news that he might be that one in a million. Typical Kevin style he joked that he'd rather be the one in a million to win the lottery! Not sure if we were in denial but despite the difficulties; having 3 young children meant we had to carry on as 'normal.'
Kevin told me he wasn't ready to die and did everything he could to fight to stay with us but after several years of gruelling failed treatments Kevin sadly passed away in November 2011.
November 2021 marks 10 years since we lost him and this year we have decided to do something to mark the 10th anniversary. We will be holding a Fundraising Ball at Danson Boathouse on Friday 19th November 2021. We are hoping that this event will give our family, friends and community an amazing night that will give us joyful memories in Kevin's memory.
Following various charity events earlier this year and prior to the ball we continue our efforts to raise awareness and funds for Vasculitis UK.........
Kevin's brother Peter and mine and Kevin's sons, Harry and Tommy have now arranged a Charity Football Match at Dartford FC on Sat 23rd Oct 5:15pm KO. Players £10, Spectators £5. SPECIAL THANKS to ECS Systems for putting an opposing side together and donating very generously!! This should be a fun match - please come watch and support!
It doesn't end there! Seven of us are going to climb Mount Snowdon, Snowdonia, on 30th Oct!! None of us are experienced trekkers or super fit, however we are all determined to reach the summit!
TEAM: Nicola Neville, Peter Neville, Katy Neville, Harry Neville, Kelly Monk, Ronnie Holdsworth, Sydney Melvin.
Please wish us luck and donate as little or as much as you’d like to support our efforts. Thank you x
