Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My beautiful son is living with the life limiting condition of Cystic Fibrosis (CF). CF is a genetic condition which makes the mucus in the body thicker and clogs the lungs, digestive system and other vital organs. We spend many hours doing treatments, attending appointments and feeding George up in order to keep him healthy enough to fight off associated infections that people with CF are prone to.
The average life expectancy of people living with CF is just 43 years of age.
CF is a degenerative condition, he is very well now, but that will not always be the case. That is unless a cure or transformational drugs are made available. Reseach is taking place in to such things as gene replacement therapy. We need these treatments to be available before George's lungs suffer any irreversable damage through repeated lung infections.
The research is, of course expensive. Any thing you can donate, no matter how small will go towards funding this vital research. It will make a massive difference to the lives of people living with CF and their families.
So, me and a bunch of people from the HR Team supporting schools in Birmingham have signed up for the abseil challenge. It is terrifying, but not as much of a challenge as those people who spend each day battling CF!
Thank you for your support.
