Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
2017 was a milestone year for me and with 2018 being my 50th I have decided to undertake a challenge that will push me both physically and mentally. The challenge will involve a 6 day trek of 6-8 hours a day ascending to 10,500 ft through the Annapurna region of the Himalayas.
I feel blessed that I have an opportunity and ability to undertake such a life-affirming experience. But this challenge is not just about testing myself but also as an opportunity to raise money for a worthy cause. Of course there are hundreds of charities, but the one I have chosen on this occasion is the National Autistic Society. There are over 700,000 people in the UK who suffer from this lifelong condition, that's 1 in 100. Dealing with the normal things in life that most of us take for granted can be a real challenge for autistic children and adults and that's why organisations like the National Autistic Society play such an important part throughout their lives. I do this for my amazing daughter Melissa who has been so strong through her struggles in dealing with autism (love you sweety!!)
Although my trekking challenge is not until October, I am beginning the first challenge of raising at least £1,500 now. Please help me achieve this target.
