Ten years ago my Mum was diagnosed with Breast Cancer, I was just 11 and my sister 8. I was old enough to understand how serious this illness was, but wasn't fully aware of its implications. 

My Mum suffered some gruelling treatments and went through an incredibly tough time. But she beat it. Since then I have known many others affected, unfortunately many not as lucky as her. 

I have such an interest in the biology behind this illness I have studied many of its aspects previosuly. I am now studying for a PhD. 

 

So I am running the race for life in order to raise money and awareness, as I have seen how much the money really does make a difference. There are hundreds of research groups being funded by CRUK, and each one is researching into novel causes and possible treatments. 

So please sponsor me, for not only a cause close to my heart, but probably yours too. Cancer affects everyone, but new cures are being found constantly.
