Story
My Auntie Sue was admitted into St Ann's in the last days of her illness from cancer in 2016. St Ann's provided wonderful care to a kind and generous lady and I would like to give something back to them and help them to carry on with their amazing work.
St Ann's aim to meet the unique physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs of those with a life-limiting illness, and to help maintain their dignity. St Ann's provide specialist palliative care for people with cancer and non-cancer life-limiting illnesses, at all stages of their illness. St Ann's also support the relatives , carers and friends and I know this was a help and comfort to my family.
I ran the Great Manchester Run 10k, my first ever race in May 2016 and I found this tough. I started running again in lockdown last year and slowly built up my distance. Running really helped with my mental health in a tough year. It seemed fitting to run the Great Manchester Run Half Marathon as my first half marathon race. I know I will find this a tough challenge and I have been training hard in preparation for those 13.1 miles.
If you can please donate something, no matter how much to help St Ann's continue to provide such a wonderful service.
