Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In August 2012 our world was turned upside down when our son Richard died suddenly from an undiagnosed heart condition. He was a fit and active young man, always out and about with his friends on his scooter.
On the 22nd of June 2013 I, along with my daughter Laura, and 2 very good friends, Nicola Ball and Theresa Elliott, will be participating in the 50K Trans Pennine Challenge in memory of Richard.
We are raising money for the charity Cardiac Risk in the Young; they do an amazing job raising awareness of sudden cardiac death, a silent killer that claims the lives of at least 12 apparently 'fit and healthy' young people, including my son, Rick, every week.
As a charity they rely entirely on public support, so please, help me raise my target of £275 for the charity. It will be used to support their national cardiac screening programme, develop their bereavement support service, support medical research and raise awareness of the risk of undetected cardiac conditions in young people.
Any money me and Team Hilfie raise above our targets will be going to the Richard Hill Memorial Fund, a fund we have set up to help support facilities for the young people of Hathersage (where I live).
