Story

So every few years I do something stupid and sign up for a running event that I don’t want to do. This time I’ve done the most stupidest thing I’ve ever done and hopefully this time I will learn my lesson….

On April 21st 2024 I will be running the London Marathon. I’m having palpitations even writing this down. I hate running. I am useless at running. I don’t want to run. I definitely don’t want to run 26 miles.

This really will be a challenge for me but in my early 30s I wrote a list of all the things I want to achieve by the time I’m 40, and as that is sadly fast approaching, I’m determined to tick this one off once and for all, whilst raising valuable funds for a worthy cause in the process.

The Hospice of the Good Shepherd provides extraordinary care and compassion to individuals and families facing some of life’s most challenging moments, supporting life-limiting illnesses and end of life care.

Hospice of the Good Shepherd provides its services free of charge to its patients and costs £5.1million to run each year with just 20% of the funding we receive coming from statutory sources. The remaining 80% is raised from a range of fundraising activities and the support of our the generous local community in Cheshire. In addition, they raise money through their local charity shops and weekly lottery.

Thank you for reading and all of your support.
