I started this craziness when my friend suffered the greatest loss ever in 2012, Her baby girl Frankie-Kates was taken at 13 months in a tragic road traffic accident. Since then my friends and myself have continued to support and join together in her memory. We climbed Snowdon first as the family said that everyday is like climbing a mountain, and raised money and awareness for the charity Brake.
My main reason and drive is ALWAYS for Frankie and her family, but this time i have decided to raise money for a charity close to my heart, as Crohns has become my mountain. I would like to raise money and awareness for this horrible disease that has changed my life in many ways..Its a debilitating and unpredictable disease, that carries so many different things with it. Its a misunderstood illness that people should be made more aware of, its so much more than going to the toilet lots and stomach aches. I now suffer from arthritis due to my crohns, I am often so tired that just getting up in the morning tires me out, the fatigue is so frustrating and i now and always will rely on many different medications just to keep me going. I have been close to death twice now due to crohns, but have been lucky to have fantastic hospital staff and a surgeon that became my hero.
So i am just hoping that this will draw some attention to the disease, and hopefully raise some money for it also. So if you can donate just a few quid each i would be so grateful.....Thank you.
