Event: Chiltern 50 Challenge 2022, on 24 September 2022
We want every new parent to understand why it is so important that their baby's head is measured. An estimated, 1 in every 770 babies will develop hydrocephalus each year. 'Get-A-Head' will help those with symptoms get treated sooner.

Story

I had no idea what Hydrocephalus was until a friend of mine helped start a local charity to raise awareness. Its affects 1 in 770 babies born in the UK alone. There is no cure of this condition, which is caused from water on the brain and there are very few treatment options available.

This charity provides vital support to families affected by Hydrocephalus, through direct family support, NHS grants for training, Government lobbying and awareness for earlier diagnosis.

Harry's Hat know that measuring babies' heads after birth can help identify the condition and improve the outcome. Health visitors no longer carry out these vital checks. I am raising money to support their vital Get-A-Head campaign which will help save lives by encouraging new parents to measure their babies' heads regularly and educating them on why this is so important

Please donate whatever you can, big or small; every single penny helps this small local charity to do this important work.
