Having missed out on cycling in Palestine in 2019 I've challenged myself to get back in the saddle and to complete the wonderful Medical Aid for Palestinians' sponsored bike ride the length of the West Bank in March 2020, which was postponed due to COVID. It was rescheduled to June, then October 2021 but it's now been put back to some time in 2022, insha'Allah.

The Palestinians need our help so much more than ever. The UN said that Gaza would be unliveable by 2020, and it is. They are desperate for basic medical care as well as clean drinking water and food. The work that Medical Aid for Palestinians is phenomenal but the health care system in Gaza is at breaking point. Now made even worse by the recent indiscriminate bombing, the murder of over 200 people including 67 children, destruction of thousands of homes and the bombing of health care facilities. 

MAP continue to run their brilliant Mobile Health Clinics visiting Bedouin Communities in the West Bank. Carrying essential meds as well as trained medical staff, they are able to treat some of the most marginalised people in the world. 

In addition, MAP are definitely trying to fundraise to buy a Mammogram Tomosynthesis Hologic 3D machine to enable staff to detect breast cancer in women. Palestinian women with breast cancer have half the life expectancy of their equivalents in the UK
