A year ago I was diagnosed with breast cancer, which blew my life apart. The last year has been a whirlwind of scans, tests, appointments, chemotherapy, surgery and radiotherapy and the rest! Having cancer completely changes you as a person both in mind and body. And no matter how independent you are, whether you like it or not, you need all the support you can get! I'm one of the lucky ones and have been given the all clear. The support I have received from family and friends has been amazing but at some point you need professional support and that's where Maggie's Centre entered my life! The centre in Leeds is such a relaxing, peaceful and welcoming place and the staff and volunteers cannot do enough to listen and help. They provide emotional, physical, financial support for cancer patients and their relatives. Now it's time for me to give something back. Cancer does not care who you are, it can affect anyone! PLEASE HELP support Maggie's, as aftercare is just as important as treatment.
