Story
Well it is done and what an experience. Somewhere between 104 and 110 miles over 4 days. Really, really tough at times but I'm still glad I have done it! All the messages and support were really helpful as was taking Armstrong with me. Thanks again.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As most of you know I spend alot of time walking and looking less than glamorous but it is all with good cause. From the 10th-13th of April I will be walking the entire Cotswold Way, a 100 mile route from Chipping Campden to Bath. I'm doing this to fulfil a personal ambition and to raise money for the Sumatran Orangutan Society (SOS).
Once widespread throughout the forests of Asia, orangutans are now found on just two islands, Sumatra and Borneo. The Sumatran orangutans are critically endangered, largely as a result of mankind's relentless assault on their natural habitat. We are destroying their forrest homes on such a scale that there are is a very real risk that these beautiful, intelligent creatures will be come extinct in the wild.
I don't want that to happen, and I want my children ( and grandchildren - eek!) to have the opportunity to see Orangutans in the wild one day. So, the money I raise will support the SOS "Save Armstrong" (great name!) campaign by planting over 100 trees that over time will provide valuable food, shelter and nesting spots for Armstrong the orangutan and his friends.
