Story
I used to love camping as a child and as a young woman but haven’t slept in a tent for over 20 years, and never in the Winter. Now in my early seventies, I’ll therefore be quite out of my comfort zone and expect it to be quite a challenge..
I have seen Shelterbox tents in use in Haiti following the 2010 earthquake and am aware of what a marvellous help they are to people made homeless by natural disasters. Most refugees live in horrendous conditions and inadequate shelter. Surely I can withstand a bit of discomfort for a few weeks in order to raise some money to fund much needed equipment for homeless people.
Here's how your support can help: - £11 could provide a family with a solar light - £24 could provide a family with a sleeping mat and thermal blankets- £47 could provide a family with a water filter giving them access to clean drinking water- £385 could provide a family with a tent, a space for a family to call home? Every penny raised could give a family a home, and with a home comes a powerful sense of new hope.
