Women for Women - Cycle Vietnam and Cambodia · 18 November 2011 ·
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Many of you visiting this page will be aware of our previous cycle challenge through Jordan in 2009 and through the fantastic generosity of friends, family, neighbours, colleagues and clients, Jennie and I raised nearly £5500.
They say time is a great healer and so it is. It helps one forget the pain and discomfort one went through cycling in 40 degree heat on a saddle supposedly made of gel but was something less comfortable!!! But we have put that to oneside in order to once again raise funds for what we believe to be a very worthy cause. This time we are cycling 400km over 5 days from Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam to Angkor Wat in Cambodia in November 2011. November is apparently fairly cool, about 40 degrees!!! with high humidity!!
This time we need to raise a minimum of £6200. Through carboot sales and selling handbags, scarves notebooks etc at fairs we have already raised approx £3000. We are very much aware of the economic times that we are now in and quite understand that people are not in positions to give as much as they once were. Therefore any donation no matter how small would be extremely gratefully received.
Genesis Research Trust (women for women is the cycling charity set up to raise the funds) raise funds for female researchers and clinicians to look at all aspects of women and babies health, including devastaing conditions such as premature and still birth, genetic disorders including cystic fibrosis and muscular dystropy and female cancers and brain damage caused through the birthing process.
If you can help with a donation, no matter how small you will be helping to prevent some of these devastating conditions and save families across the world from having to deal with them.
Many thanks
love Nicky & Jennie
