Story
Sadly we recently lost my Mum in Law Brenda, and I wanted to do something to celebrate what a wonderful and inspiring person she was. We gossiped and laughed daily on the phone and talked about all sorts of things but mainly about what we'd eaten, what we were going to eat and how we were going to help each other to shift our excess pounds after we'd eaten it!
I've inherited Brenda's Fitbit which has really helped me stay on track and given me something to focus on during this difficult time and so I thought why not set myself a challenge!
My goals for the next 28 days are to:
- Walk 3 miles a day
- Meditate 3 times a day
- Ditch alcohol
- Do my best to lose at least 14lbs!
Brenda was such a kind hearted soul and would always try to help others. She always championed my work at DENS and having been a nurse herself, loved to hear about what we were doing to help local vulnerable families and individuals living in crisis.
Right now DENS is working on frontline services to ensure the most vulnerable people in our local community are supported. Our key priorities are to:
- Keep the Foodbank running to meet the unprecedented demand in food parcels
- Keep the Elms Hostel open and safe for our 44 residents, with self-isolation rooms as required.
- Keep all staff, volunteers and service users protected
I'd be so grateful if you could support DENS at this unprecedented time by making a donation to my page.
Brenda was a Wife, Sister, Mother, Best Friend and doting Nanna who touched everyone she met with positivity, love and kindness.
Brenda I'm doing this for you, I'll miss you so much and all the mischief we'd be getting up to x❤️❤️❤️ ❤️❤️❤️
