NICKY & JAK'S 10,000 FT LEAP!

Hospice Of St Francis (Berkhamsted) - Sky Dive · 15 September 2012 ·
Last year I abseiled 100ft down a building and, (with all of your generous sponsorship) raised a tidy sum of money for The Hospice of St. Francis.
It was terrifying, and I vowed never to do anything like it again.
I thought, "There must be an easier way to raise a bit of cash, right?" So, we went to a quiz night. Brilliant fun! Much, much easier and a fair bit of money was raised. Perfect!
Unfortunately, Jak and I drank rather too much beer at said quiz night, and there were drunken mutterings at the end about maybe signing up for a sky dive. Yes, you heard me right.... a sky dive.
Let me just tell you what a ridiculous idea this was..... I am a rubbish flyer... can't stand planes, especially tiny planes. Jak is petrified of heights... he struggled to stay upright on the London Eye. So, the very thought of either one of us agreeing to get into a small plane, climb to the dizzy heights of 10,000ft, and then jump out is obviously the most ridiculous thing i've ever heard!
But, on September 15th of this year, that is exactly what we are both going to do.
The Hospice of St. Francis is local to us. They do an incredible job. They are desperate for help... especially now in this tough economic time when their funding is being slashed, and they are having to reduce their services. The guys who work there give such a lot of comfort and dignity to people at the very end of their lives, and help and comfort those who love them, and who are left behind to cope without them.
So, we're doing it. Got to be worth a little bit of our fear and cold sweat surely?
And we would be so very grateful if you could find a few quid to see us through it all. We wouldn't ask if we really didn't feel that we were raising money for a completely worthwhile cause... and The Hospice of St. Francis is that, and a whole lot more.
Thank you all for your support xxxxxxxxxxx
