Story
I will be running the London Marathon in October 2022 in memory of my dad, and to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Dad was diagnosed with cancer in the early summer of 2012, and with all treatments ultimately proving unsuccessful it was confirmed to be terminal in August that year. He passed away just a month later on September 6th.
2022 marks 10 years since that day, and I will never forget the incredible mentality he showed during that last month, continuing to be the loving and dependable father that he always was, right until the very end. The strength of character to maintain this despite knowing that the time he would have to leave us was fast approaching, is something that I can only hope to live up to. He was taken far sooner than any of us could have expected and not a day goes by where I don't miss him.
The support that Macmillan provided at the time, and continue to provide to this day has been invaluable for me and my family, and I hope to be able to make a significant contribution to them with your support by undertaking this challenge. This will allow them to continue to provide the care that is urgently needed by so many in the same unfortunate position as us.
Any donations would be very much appreciated, my Strava should be linked to this page if you're interested in seeing how my training is getting on.
Lots of love
Nick
