Story
In memory of Uncle Nick, 1965-2007.
Many of you will have known Nick well, and others may have met him on occasion. He was born with congenital heart disease, and has thus always lived with his illness. Apart from the odd struggle to get up a flight of stairs the casual observer would have hardly noticed; such was the stoic and brave way he approached his life. It was true to the end that no fuss was ever made despite his inner fears, and that he died peacefully in his sleep on Monday night, 23rd January. Of course we won’t remember him for his illness, but for the great joy and richness he brought to all of our lives.
Nick you will be missed so much.
Nick had given up one day a week from work in order to volunteer for Oxfam, and this is why we have selected them for his legacy. In respect of his love of his nieces and nephew, we feel he would have approved of our choice of sponsoring a classroom, for children less privileged than our own.

Further note 4th February 2007:
As you can see we have more than surpassed our expectations, thanks to everyone's great generosity. I shall be speaking to Oxfam over the coming weeks to determine whether a specific project can be allocated to Nick's name.
