Help us to provide the best special care for babies

Story

Two years ago on the 5th of April 2017, our Twin girls Willow & Dusty were born in Darenth Valley Hospital at 9.30am & 9.32am. Happiest  time of your life right?!

Half an hour after they were born, our world implodes. Our Dusty stopped breathing. The resuscitation team whisked her away to special care (Walnut Ward) and she was not seen by her mum until late that evening, about 11pm, when they wheeled her into the ward in her incubator to mums bedside, before placing her in a special ambulance.

They could not get her to breath on her own and she was having seizures. They took her to Medway hospital for further treatment, and then after two days she was transferred to the Evelina in London.

She was eventually back to Walnut ward, after around 2 weeks. A period of three weeks in hospital in total.

To see what they do and what other parents go through on that ward, with premature Babies & other difficult situations like ours, is simply amazing.

Although we can not praise Medway and the Evelina enough for their help & support, the care that Dusty received in those vital first hours from the Doctors & Nurses & all involved on the Walnut ward saved her life.

All this whilst still having to care for our other little girl Willow.

So I decided I will leave my Beard to grow until the girls were turning 2, putting up with peoples dislike of it (Parents & Wife mostly) and have the Twins shave it for The Little Buds Charity.
