Story
Hi, Thanks for visiting my Marathon fundraising page.
I did it, on Sunday 26th April 2009 I completed the London Marathon
BUT its not too late to raise more funds for the BHF...
Thanks to those who have already sponsored, 150+ people.
I chose to run the London Marathon this year on behalf of a very important charity, the British Heart Foundation
.
Special thanks go to (in no order) Repton PLC, Healthsure, Brooks Running, Norwich City Football Club, Bennetts Electrical, BJ Communications, Snelling Business Systems and PF Southgate Ltd.
Although it was a hot day, I managed to finish the 26.2 miles in 4hours 7minutes, despite my knee giving up at just over half way!! What kept me going was the fantastic supporters that came along to cheer me on, they were fantastic. And the rest of London weren't bad either!!! What an atmosphere.
My training included approx;
Time spent running: 103 hours 40 minutes
Weight lost!: 10 lbs
Distanace run: 945 miles
Pen & paper sponsors raised: £1603
Sponsorship forms in different places: 8
No matter how small, please feel the need to sponsor me, you can do the important thing of helping the BHF save lives and help others. Also, have you signed the petition? http://www.newheartplan.org.uk
It's so easy and quick to donate and it's totally secure. Your money will go directly to the BHF.. AND what's more if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure ANOTHER 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation (just tick the boxes!)
PLEASE sponsor me! (If you're really not sure please think about this:).. The Scary Stuff; Heart Disease is Britain's biggest killer. Every year about a quarter of a million people in the UK have a heart attack. Nearly half that number will die. 50% of the people who have a heart attack will have another one within a year. A third of the UK population will die of a heart attack.
