It is now over 10 years since I cycled from London to Paris on a tandem with Al Sloman, and it's high time for a new challenge. I still cycle regularly, but only to cover my short distance to work and back each day. When I heard that John Davidson was inviting friends to support him on a one day coast-to coast cycle ride, I couldn't resist.
After several long training rides, I have now realised my mistake! 140 miles is actually quite a long way. Still, it's a good cause and John has already raised over £5,000 (http://www.justgiving.com/John-R-Davidson). This fantastic effort deserves some support and I hope that you can help me with the fundraising. The coast-to-coast will cover 140 miles from Whitehaven to Tynemouth and I believe will include a couple of hills on the way!
St Oswald's Hospice is a local organisation that provides tremendous support for both children and adults with life-limiting conditions. It is a registered charity and raises the bulk of its funds through voluntary donations. It is well known in the Newcastle area and makes a real difference to the lives of those most in need of help. I would be very grateful for any donations towards my fundraising goal.
