Naomi House & Jacksplace Run 4 Respite · 1 March 2021 to 3 April 2021 ·

Run 4 Respite Make Your Miles Count. Recognizing the changing environment the hospices are in, respite remains a key part of the service we offer. This is an event that promotes our services whilst encouraging fundraising.

Story

A KFA Connect team have decided to 'Run 4 Respite' this March. A challenge which involves running 105 miles during the month of March to fund 5 hours of respite. This equates to around 3.4 miles EVERY DAY!

Hopefully with a lot of willpower and by giving each other encouragement, we will make it! Your support will certainly help motivate us, and also help a fantastic charity, which is very close to our hearts in the process.

Naomi House & Jacksplace are hospices for children and young adults with life limiting conditions and life threatening conditions. The charity provides care to people living in communities across the seven counties of central southern England. The charity has two specialist units: Naomi House for children, and Jacksplace for teenagers and young adults. Each unit offers an appropriate environment for each age group. Services offered include respite care, emergency care, end-of-life care and ongoing bereavement support.

KFA Connect have supported the hospice previously by fundraising and also by giving up their time to send gardening teams to the hospice to help keep their beautiful outside space looking great! This enabled the team to see first-hand how relaxed and happy the children and young adults are when using the facilities at the hospice. It was really heart warming to see it in action.

They seek to raise £9.2 million to run the two units each year, with less than 11% of income coming from the Government and other statutory bodies.

Your support enables the charity to provide these crucial care services, free of charge, to children, young adults and their families, so thank you!
