Thank you for visiting my JustGiving page.
To mark my 60th birthday - and throughout 2019 and 2020 - I am raising funds to support vulnerable people living in Essex.
Every single penny raised will go to an existing fund which is focussed on victims of different types of abuse (women and men), young women in need of education or support to gain more independence and improve their self-esteem, and older women, for example, suffering from isolation in their own homes.
In June 2019 I raised just over £2,000 from individual's kind personal donations and from over 65 people who attended the two hour Zumbathon I organised.
All money raised will continue to go into my existing fund named 'The Nicki Alvey Bazlinton Trust' established in 2015 and managed by Essex Community Foundation (Registered Charity Number 1052061).
I am proud that my first Trust grant was made in 2018, with money going to Southend Vineyard to support ‘The Promise Project’, a community-based drop-in service for women and girls who are being exploited through prostitution. The scheme offers a safe place where they can have a warm meal and receive support, including making appointments at sexual health clinics, referrals to counselling and other recovery treatments for drug and alcohol abuse.
PLEASE HELP spread the word by telling your friends, neighbours, colleagues and family about my 60th birthday charity fundraising campaign. Thank you.
