For the seventh year Nick is running the Great North Run. However this year will be a new challenge for him, as he has Helen (built for comfort and not for speed) tagging along too. 

We wanted to do more stuff together... :)

For the past three years at Rainbows, Helen has seen the incredible care and work Rainbows offers children with life limited illnesses. As the only hospice in the East Midlands for children and young people, Rainbows provides end of life care, symptom management, short breaks and respite care to many young people. The team also supports parents, grand-parents, brothers and sisters, because a child's illness affects the whole family.

We are running as well in memory of a brave young girl who sadly died at Rainbows last year, after a five year illness. Lucy Rawlings was 15 (not much older than our eldest son) and loved by many. Like many others in our community, her smile and courage is something we will never forget and will take with us on the journey.
