Story
On Sunday 12th September 2021 we are running the Brighton Marathon.
Running is a fairly recent thing for Tamsin. To say it is a challenge is an understatement. At school she avoided cross country and according to her school report, was ‘awkward’ at PE but tried hard. For Nick, running without a cricket ball involved is a novel concept. Running a marathon is something he always said he should do, but until now, has never taken on the challenge.
We wanted to take the opportunity to raise money in memory of 2 special children that sadly, have recently left us too soon - Amelia Fairbrother (aged 10) and Oscar Riley (aged 2).
Ronald McDonald House charities provided support to both these families.
Amelia’s Mummy, Daddy and sisters Martha and Kitty were regular residents at the Brighton RM house. It enabled them to spend more time together as a family many times when Amelia was in hospital.
Oscar’s Mummy, Daddy and baby brother Isaac stayed in the St George’s RM house when Oscar was admitted following a cardiac arrest. This charity meant his family could stay close to him for his final few days.
Ronald McDonald House Charities provides free 'home away from home' accommodation at specialist children's hospitals across the UK, enabling families to stay close to their child and maintain a degree of normal family life. There are many families who need support. To help build even more Houses across the UK, we will be running #forRMHC at the Brighton Marathon 2020. Please help Ronald McDonald House Charities to keep more families with their sick children by donating and supporting. Thank you.
