Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit this JustGiving page.
The mental health of our young people represents perhaps one of the most significant health crises of the early 21st century. The combined negative impact of social media and COVID-19 on the lives and futures of young people cannot be understated. And the services to address the challenges young people are facing are woefully under-resourced.
So the work of charities, such as Headspace, a young people's mental health charity in the North Cotswolds, are essential. This is why Jon Wareing and Nick Maunder have decided to turn something they are undertaking for their own physical and mental well-being in to a fund-raiser.
They are walking the Cotswold Way from Chipping Camden to Bath - 102 miles (164km) - over 5 consecutive days in early May.
- Day 1 - Chipping Camden to Winchcombe (19 miles)
- Day 2 - Winchcombe to Birdlip (21.7 miles)
- Day 3 - Birdlip to Stonehouse (17 miles)
- Day 4 - Stonehouse to Hawkesbury Upton (22.5)
- Day 5 - Hawkesbury Upton to Bath (23.9)
Can you help them convert each mile into a couple of hours of much needed counselling for the 11 to 19 yr olds of the North Cotswolds?
If anyone would like to join them for part of the walk, please drop either Jon or Nick a message. Kathryn Pulham, Chair of Headspace, has already committed to joining for a day!
Or if you simply want to join them for a well-earned drink at the end of a stage, you're also very welcome!
Please note the vested interests! Jon is a Trustee and member of the Headspace Leadership Team. Professionally as a Business Performance Coach he is immersed in the world of mental toughness and mindset and is passionate about equipping people with the tools to navigate a world full of volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity. Nick is Cotswold District Councillor for Bourton-on-the-Water - the home of Headpsace - and a Humanitarian Aid consultant and deals with the challenges of inequities on a daily basis.

UPDATE
We completed the walk, starting on the 8th May and finishing in Bath on the 12th. It has been an amazing experience, the wild garlic and bluebells at this time of year have been a dominant visual theme as well as the amazing Cotswolds views from North to South!
Thank you to everyone who has supported us so far! Family, friends and colleagues. And special thanks to Mella, Tara & Joan (from Cheltenham) who we met along the way on the final day. So kind of you to support complete strangers!
If you haven't yet donated, please consider doing so now. We desperately need to raise funding for another counsellor at Headspace.
