Nick and Ellie's Wedding
Fundraising for Meningitis Research Foundation
Fundraising for Meningitis Research Foundation
Hello everyone!
As you doubtless know by now, we're getting married on March 27th 2010. Hurrah!
We are very lucky in that we already have almost everything we need for our new home together, and so haven't made a wedding list.
However, if you are feeling uncontrollably generous, we have nominated two charities that we would love you to make a donation to in honour of our wedding day: the Meningitis Research Foundation and the Global Health Network.
This Justgiving page allows you to make an instant donation to the Meningitis Research Foundation, who fund research into preventing meningitis and septicaemia and improving survival rates and outcomes. MRF also promotes education and awareness to reduce death and disability, and provide short- and long-term support to those affected. Nick was affected by meningitis as a young child, as are around 3500 people each year in the & .
Donating on this page is not only quick, easy and safe but also, by the magic of Gift Aid (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gift_Aid), MRF will be able to claim an extra 25% on whatever you donate at no cost to you or them.
However, if you would prefer to donate by cheque that would also be marvellous - please send them to Ellie's dad Peter. You can find his address on your wedding invitation, or by contacting either of us.
We are also supporting the Global Health Network, an international charity set up to distribute vaccines and treatments (donated free by the pharmaceutical industry) for the neglected tropical diseases (NTDs). If you would like to donate to GHN, please see the information enclosed with your wedding invitation or contact either of us.
You can see how this strand of donation is getting on below, but we will also be letting you all know the total for both charities on the day, and afterwards.
Lots of thank-yous and sloppy kisses,
Nick & Ellie
