Back-to-Back Weekend Endurance Challenge

The Dave Holman Challenge & The Edinburgh Half Marathon 2022

I am remembering Dave and raising money for Tiny Steps by completing the 32-mile Dave Holman Challenge and the Edinburgh Half Marathon on consecutive weekends in May this year.

This is the fifth anniversary of the Dave Holman Challenge, which in one way is a great achievement, but in another way is bittersweet because it means we have been without our dear friend Dave for far too long. 

I have organised the walk this year along a route that I know would have appealed to the big man. It is rugged and beautiful with a touch of razzmatazz - much like Dave himself.  

The walk totals 32 miles with the final 8 miles walked along the promenade from Fleetwood to Blackpool finishing at Blackpool Tower. In between will be coasts, fields, towns, villages and a ferry trip. 

The walk always raises money for the Northwich-based charity Tiny Steps founded by Martin and Laura Clifton. Tiny Steps' aim is to provide a sensory play area and social cafe for children and young people with additional needs and their families in the Northwich/Winsford area of Cheshire. The charity was set up when Martin and Laura’s daughter Connie was diagnosed with a rare form of epilepsy called West Syndrome.
