Story
I am a Warrant Officer serving with The Household Cavalry Regiment and I am running the 2014 Virgin London Marathon on Sun 13 Apr 14 for the Brain Tumour Charity - Michelle King Fund.
Having finally gained a place in the marathon and never one for doing things the easy way, I have chosen to complete the 26.2 miles carrying a 36lb Bergen, in combat boots and combat trousers, in less than 5 hours!
I have chosen the Brain Tumour Charity because in January 2012 at the age of just 34 a beloved friend Michelle lost her three year battle with brain cancer and sadly passed away. The Michelle King fund was set up in her memory to raise awareness and money for essential research that the charity carries out. Michelle was a bubbly, fun loving individual who touched the hearts of so many people during her short life and her memory should live on through our fundraising efforts
Any financial support you can give through sponsoring me will ensure the Brain Tumour Charity can continue their great work to cure the biggest cancer killer of children and adults under 40.
Please forward this to all your friends, families and work colleagues, to help me raise as much money as possible by donating to my just giving page. www.justgiving.com/Nick-Wright16
Any donation, no matter the size, is hugely appreciated. The support you give me will only drive and motivate me to ensure the charity is the winner in the long run.
